Expressive painting courses in Amsterdam- painting and drawing
All courses at Atelier Werkplaats Molenpad Increase confidence through art, improvising with your creativity and transforming your life while having fun! Courses are excellent for beginners and advanced students. Each class meets 3 hours once a week for the duration of the course. Classes start on September 24th, 2012 and run until 29 april, 2013.

During the one day Workshops, you can get a firsthand feeling for all courses.

All classes are given by Daniella Rubinovitz. There may be guest lectures. Each weekly jamming session ends with a short evaluation. When time, there are dialogues with your drawing/ painting. Season 2013-2014 has some scheduling updates. Based on your kind feedback, and to accommodate as many participants, we are going to shift all classes starting in September to TUESDAYS:

• Tuesday 10:00am-1:00pm: Atelier for expressive art (Open drawing/ painting). 
• Tuesday 2:00pm-5:00pm: Foundation for intuitive art.
  
• Tuesday 7:00pm-10:00pm: Atelier for expressive art (Open drawing/ painting).

Tuesday 10:00-1:00pm Atelier for expressive art (Open drawing/ painting).
Participants explore drawing, painting in large format or sculpting at improvisational pace. Individual feedback will be given throughout the class. The development of painting techniques such as form, space, depth, relief, color usage, composition and personal dialogues with your work are the focus for the course. Attention is given to transforming the painting and drawing. Especially the painting on small and large (100 x 70cm) is applicable. Furthermore there is painting with charcoal, pastels and clay. In agreement with the group every now and then there will be painting from a live model. This stimulates the usage of figurative or abstract figuration shapes in your free paintings.

Tuesday 2:00-5:00pm: Back to basics for intuitive/ expressive art. (Foundation)
Be guided through creative expression techniques. Expand pure knowledge with materials by getting back to basics through breathing, activating our left and right side of our brain. Discover interaction of light and darkness while enjoying movement, colors and shapes that emerge. Discover clarity in patterns and break out of old patters while having fun. This module is suitable for all levels! We can never get enough of the basics!

7:30-10:30pm: Atelier for expressive art (Open drawing/ painting).
Work at your own pace to discover freedom in living through art. Improv play with light and darkness to explore a moving interaction of colors for your own enjoyment. Take the time for yourself away from your daily life. Drawing and painting with acrylic on both small and large format paper (100 x 70cm). Guidance and feedback is given on an individual basis allowing participants to work at their own rhythm and to discover personal themes. Sometimes we will be inspired by the human figure and have a model come in. Here we will focus on light, darkness and color through observing movement, volumes, shapes and composition. Participants can choose to play with all painting styles including figurative and or abstract. Some introduction of techniques/ applications and will be given.
