Experience personal breakthroughs on this magical island. Through these SMART Sessions, Intuitive Painting plays a central role. We get our hands dirty through guided exercises. Surrounded by the atmosphere of Lesbos, inspiration is buzzing in the air between the olive groves and sea. There are endless possibilities and our outdoor studio is conveniently located on the property lawn.

Each morning we start the day with a guided session. The afternoons shift between self study and additional guidance.  (Note: Each retreat is unique as the schedule shifts). All retreats are designed for participants to join in on multiple weeks, so that you can keep on deepening and exploring!

The weekly outline (can still shift) is as follows:

Sunday: Arrivals, beach, studio!. . .3:00- 6:00pm guided exercise. . .cocktails at the poolside bar. . .group dinner

Monday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . . group lunch. . . 2:30- 5:30 guided exercise

Tuesday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . .afternoon beach or studio self study

Wednesday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . .afternoon beach or studio self study

Thursday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . .afternoon beach or studio self study

Friday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . . group lunch. . . 2:30- 5:30 guided exercise . . .group dinner

Saturday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . . closing

Guided Exercises:

  • Smart Sessions: Discover topics through intuitive painting
  • Charcoal Rituals that awaken the creative energy
  • Build confidence in materials (make your own tempera, watercolour and acryllic paints)
  • Expressive painting techniques, from color to movement to form
  • Intuitive Visualisation sketches.
  • Layering techniques
  • Written and verbal dialogue with your painting to read your images
  • Final touches to transform and complete your pieces
  • Group and Individual guidance and action plans: from here to there

Additional sightseeing trips, or perhaps you would like to tag on some days past the retreat. Options include:

  • Local beach (10 min walk)

  • Olive Press Museum (5 min drive)

  • Tarti Beach (15 min drive)

  • Thermal Springs Spa (10 min drive)

  • Visiting sites outside of Amsterdam

  • Molyvos (hour drive)

  • Eresos

Course Info and Materials: The fee for the week is Euro 1500. EARLY BIRD FEES ARE 1200 WHEN PAID BEFORE . . . Payment is to be made in Euro.

Course fee includes lessons, 7 night private duplex apartment accommodations, 7 Breakfasts brought to room/ 2 lunches/ 2 dinners. You are responsible for bringing your own art materials. A suggested material list will be provided. Airfare, additional meals and activities, are additional to course fee. Individual classes will be given by Daniella Rubinovitz with possible guest docents.

Our studio and accomodations will be in the sweet town of Perama, Lesvos. This town used to be booming with gorgeous brick olive oil soap factories. Now it’s a quiet picturesque spot. In and around the town are several sea-taverns and beaches. The accomodations are private duplex apartments with a spacious private balcony overlooking the mountains and garden. Each air-conditioned apartment includes a flat-screen TV and sofas. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, microwave and stove. The full bathroom has a bath. Each bedroom includes iron beds and mosquito nets. The facilities feature an outdoor pool, snack bar and free WiFi. It is located 30 km from Mytilene International Airport. There are direct flights available and easy connections from Athens.

Cancellation policy: There are no refunds for retreats. However, if you cancel prior to 30 days before the start, you will have a credit that may be applied to a future equivalent painting retreat.
