Experience personal breakthroughs in this magical, historical city of Amsterdam. Through SMART Sessions, Art (Intuitive Painting) plays a central role. We get our hands dirty through guided exercises. We let ourself trust our hands and our creative genius through the unique historical studio, Atelier Molenpad – located in the heart of Amsterdam. Surrounded by the cultural atmosphere of Amsterdam, inspiration is buzzing in the air. There are endless possibilities as our studio is situated amongst quaint cafes, museums, clubs and parks.

Join us for an unforgettable week. Increase confidence through your creative genius process of drawing and painting. Strengthen your contact with your muse, your guide! Have a blast transforming your perspective on the status quo! Come on to quench your thirsty hands!

Each morning we start the day with a guided SMART session. The afternoons shift between self study and additional guidance.  (Note: Each retreat is unique as the schedule shifts). All retreats are designed for participants to join in on multiple weeks, so that you can keep on deepening and exploring!

The general weekly outline is as follows:

Monday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . . lunch. . . 2:00-3:00 art supplies. . .3:00- 6:00pm freetime or studio self study

Tuesday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . . lunch. . . 2:30- 5:30 Guided exercise

Wednesday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . . lunch. . . 2:30- 5:30 guided exercise

Thursday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . .lunch. . . 2:30- 6:00pm freetime or studio self study

Friday: 10:00 – 1:00 pm guided exercise. . . lunch. . . 2:30- 5:30 guided exercise. . . closing

  • Guided Exercises:

    • Smart Sessions: Discover topics through intuitive painting
    • Charcoal Rituals that awaken the creative energy
    • Build confidence in materials (make your own tempera, watercolour and acryllic paints)
    • Expressive painting techniques, from color to movement to form
    • Intuitive Visualisation sketches.
    • Layering techniques
    • Written and verbal dialogue with your painting to read your images
    • Final touches to transform and complete your pieces
    • Group and Individual guidance and action plans: from here to there

    Stay a couple of additional days to continue your own adventure in Amsterdam. Ideas include:

    • Reflect,meditate and sketch on the lawn at nearby Vondelpark
    • Gaining inspiration from historical museums (a museum card can be purchased) Art Galleries, Pampering body treatments (massage, acupuncture, sensory deprivation tanks- by personal appointment) Leisurely strolls around boutiques in the Jordaan area near the studio.
      • Van Gogh Museum
      • The newly opened Rijksmuseum (Rembrandt, Vermeer)
      • Stedelijk Museum (Modern Art)
      • Anne Frank House
    • Food and sweets around town
    • Boat excursions on the canals
    • Visiting sites outside of Amsterdam

Course Info and Materials: The fee for the full week is Euro 463 ex 21% tax. =Euro 560. Approx US$560 Payment to be made in Euro. (10% discount for current local city pass . . . enrolment limited).

All art materials for the first day are included. Afterwards, materials may be purchased at art supply stores nearby. Fees for external activities, such as museums, excursions etc. . . are additional to course fee. Individual classes will be given by Daniella Rubinovitz with possible guest docents.

Accommodations:  Self-arranged.  However, if you’re visiting from out of town, and/or looking for a roommate, we can help to match up participants for housing. This will be a week to awaken your senses and focus on yourself. These experiences are put together so that we can connect deeply to ourselves. And listen confidently to what are guides have to tell us.

There will be lots of time for you to nurture and connect deeply to your self. The studio setting is all wooden, carrying with it a superb energy for balance within your soul. Gain insights by allowing your subconscious to visually emerge out of your consciousness.

Cancellation policy: There are no refunds for retreats. However, if you cancel prior to 30 days before the start, you will have a credit that may be applied to a future equivalent painting retreat in Amsterdam.
