TIP OF THE MONTH
September . . .schools have started, most businesses are fully operational. . .and I get the feeling of choice…the feeling of re- examining my bucket list and signing up for activities that are on it!
It is a new year…full of new beginnings, possibilities, new perspectives and personal development. It’s also my birth month. . .so it really is a new year in all aspects!
Speaking of which, As part of my inspiration in working with teams, I have created a video, which might be part of a series, all about showing the workings of painting for brainstorming.
See the video above. I start with a time-lapse of making the painting and then spend some time looking at the painting. I this exercise, I got insight into how such an important aspect of this work is that Paintings allow us to look at our topic through a different window.
Furthermore, the pop up airbnb experience workshops have been great fun! They continue weekly also this month. Participants choose to be inspired by a dutch expressive master. It is called: “Create Art Inspired by Dutch Masters” . . .an Amsterdam Experience. I have chosen, Mondrian, Van Gogh and De Kooning. The tip this month is for you to brainstorm about a topic through your painting . . .
- Choose a topic, where you would like to see change . .
- Create a random, abstract painting, like the way I often speak about. . .
- Notice your first impression, jot down some of these words.
- Observe your painting from an Objective perspective.
- Observe your painting from a Subjective perspective.
- See how your findings relate to your topic.

1) SMART Intuitive 8 Month Painting Club: We meet in person, on a Tuesday evening 6:30pm- 9:30pm Amsterdam time (New dates are online: (2018) Sept 18, Oct 16, Nov 20, Dec 11, (2019) Jan 15, Feb 19, March 19, April 16). 2) Art Installation: La Vie an Rose is doing a tour de Apeldoorn. First location stop was at Parksocieteit Marialist. It is located in gorgeous Verzetsstrijderspark. It’s still there as I write. Next stop will be at the Dutch Burning Man Event: Where the Sheep Sleep26-30th of July. Note La Vie En Rose is available for bookings all year long. 3) Future Play: Calling all artists! Free cultural event! 20th -30th of September, Artists are invited to collaborate to build for the public event that take place on 28, 29th and 30th. Are you a fine artist, performer, musician. . .artist at heart? La Vie En Rose will probably participate as well and be the core of some performance pieces. . .
This is located at the Niece Meer Artist Community – already established for 30 years. The address is Oude haagseweg 51. From Amsterdam its a 20 minute bus ride with bus 397 on way to Schiphol. Stop by every Thursday between 12:00 – 20:00 for an open office day where everyone can come and brainstorm, help out, prototype and hang out.
Also every Sunday between 15:00 – 20:00 there is a social meeting between the artist’s with fire, beers, and food BYOB.
