TIP OF THE MONTH

I hope things are settling down into the new normal. Gosh so much happening around. . .and it’s summertime so let’s go into that . . .shall we!

I wanted to share another favorite childhood technique. . . playing with glue and sand. Now we can do this with just glue and sand. . .or we can just dye the sand different colors. In a ziplock bag add sand and food coloring until you have the color saturation that you want. Then let it dry. I like to put the colored sand in a spice bottle so that i can choose the stream of flow.

So as i am playing with the glue and sand and layering it over each other I am fascinated by how the sand sticks to the glue. It doesn’t stop there however. . .it’s so much fun to start futzing around with it. If futzing is a new term for you. . .it basically means to be doing something with a purpose, without a clue. This is in my opinion the best way to get inspired. I call it INSPIRATIONAL FUTZING. . . The purpose is to be inspired. . .and doing so without any conscious control. . .this way we let our subconscious go where it wants. . . We get to make a mess and discover, create. . .and mostly invent. How about that for a brainstorm activity for all ages!

Have fun futzing!
