TIP OF THE MONTH

As I write this next newsletter, I am saddened that this devastating war between Russia and Ukraine still continues. This spring I can only wish and pray for peace.

. . . Spring is here, and at my current exhibit location, in Diepenheim, (Just under and hour and half drive from Amsterdam) is in full bloom! It’s wondrous to see the seedlings grow. . .lambs, foals, buds and my latest sculpture, Like a Fish out of Water, blooming and out in the world. If Fish Could Fly, my 8 meter original drawing is also on display here at the same location.

Being out here with my art, with my hubby and kids was a Spring  Fling getaway for us. We stayed in a mini-wooden block house with bunk beds on a farm. Fun and back to nature. What wondrous seeing our souls develop. Out here in nature is such a hands on way to experience the world of animals, minerals, fire, earth, wind and water.

A) Daniella’s Sculpture:

If Fish Could Fly an 8 meter drawing & Like a Fish out of Water, a 5 meter free standing piece are on display at Kunstmoment, Diepenheim 14-24 April, 2022. Location: Timmerloods Kasteel Nijenhuis: Nijenhuizerlaan 17. (11-5:00pm daily) 

Like a Fish out of Water, 5 meter free standing piece will next be displayed in Grensloos Kunst Verkennen, De Wijk/ Ijhorst, Netherlands. Location 5 meter sculpture: near Julianaweg/ Kerkweg. On display from 12-22 May, 2022.

Flying Fish is an 8 meter areal sculpture, Price Sculpture Forest, Whidbey Island, Washington State (North-West of Seattle). It is on exhibit year long throughout 2022.

E) SMART Coaching 1:1? Curious about what could be expected about working with me in a private coaching session? I combine an in-depth experience in most art discipline processes from drawing, to painting to sculpture with Art Therapy (I’m an Art Therapist) and Coaching (an CTI/ ICF certified Coach) with clients on a range of personal development topics. I use art as an initial tool to get an accurate picture of what is happening in the here and now. . .followed up with verbal coaching.

OUR EXERCISE THIS MONTH:

Colored pencils and water colors . . .

  1. Gather your colored pencils, watercolors and paper.
  2. Go out into nature, it’s spring after all.
  3. Observe the spring colors, shapes and sounds.
  4. Be inspired by textures, collage and creation.
  5. Fill the page, starting with the colored pencils and then continue after with the water colors to capture the inspiration around.
  6. Breath in the nature and enjoy that you have made it here.
  7. Enjoy your new piece.
