TIP OF THE MONTH Welcome to January, 2017! Zoom, sparkles, magic and bam! Here we are in 2017! Gosh, this makes me want to pause, take a breath, gather my thoughts, feelings and space! Ah . . . better, here we go! This month of January speaks all about beginnings. . .it speaks about follow through. . .it speaks about priorities and making choices! This year, again, I choose for artistic creativity.. . .to lead the way into wackiness, making the impossible possible, whimsy's, serendipitous encounters. Whether this might be through the painting expression through colors, three dimensional sculpture of forms, singing and voice silliness, texture and material exploration, body awareness and movement. Each discipline has that beginning phase of awkwardness. That phase of. . .mmmm. . .i'm not so sure. . .what will others say? What about "looking good". .. what will they say. . .what if they discover that I too started from scratch!...

December: A Silver Expression . . .

TIP OF THE MONTH Welcome to December. . . This time of year makes me feel the expressions of silver. Lets talk about Illumination, reflection, glamor and the feminine power. It is especially during these winter months, (in the northern hemisphere that is) where we don't have as many hours of the golden sunlight. Instead we get nurtured by the qualities of moonlight. The moon caries with it, the metaphor of the feminine energy. We can choose to tune into this calming and emotionally fluid, sensitive energy to hunker down and connect with our earthly reflection. Go ahead and feel what this difference might mean for yourself: moon energy instead of sun energy. Mmmmm Speaking of reflection, silver carries a mesmerising quality of reflection. November: Earthbound Color Explosions

TIP OF THE MONTH Welcome to November. . . Let's for a moment examine the cause and effect of trees releasing its leaves and what we might learn from this. We are all pretty aware of the cycles of nature. Leaves, which capture all the nutrients from the light all spring and summer, are released in autumn in preparation for the winter months. During these months all the nursing energy will come from the ground up and nourish from inside out. Trees 'know' that as part of the cycle, spring will rebirth new leaves once again.. . .making it easy now, to let go of these precious leaves. It does so in such a celebratory way too! Use these colors at your palette to work with. Grab your sketchbook now and forget about aesthetics! This is your sacred moment to express naturally. . .there is no should, could and would. . .instead. . . lots of doing. . .action. . .playing and exploring. Release the emotions that come. . .let them be, whether that is laughing, crying. . .or perhaps. . .twitching! Yes, this is what I am feeling for this month of October. TIP OF THE MONTH Welcome to September. . . As you well know, I love metaphors! This month, see your life as a masterpiece! What do we need to create this masterpiece. . .(drumroll please. . ) a palette! Yes our palette is where we can collect and mix colors. . . thin the colors and play with textures. As a metaphor, sometimes we want to continue with the colors already on the palette, other times, we may prefer to have a whole new set of colors. It is especially exciting to try out just those colors that we have never tried before. . .or use those colors that we used to find ugly! September is a perfect time to learn something new, get out of our comfort zone, add skills or learn about new ways to expand your thinking.
